Beta Information

Our Beta will release either on the 27th or 28th of April, depending on some last-minute infrastructure details we're working out.

Past launch, it will be open for about a week. We'll have a MASSIVE blog post with more info on specifics about what to expect in the beta once it launches.

Invite Beta Bot

Our beta is taking place on our long asleep Beta Bot. You can invite it to your own server with the following link: Invite Dank Memer Beta.

Set Your Server Permissions

In our beta, we currently do not have any form of enable/disable system. THIS MEANS if you don't want your server members to be spamming this bot in every channel on your server you need to set up some basic disables for your members.

What you'll need to do is, in EVERY channel you don't want a member running slash commands you will need to deny permissions to their roles for Use Application Commands.

NOTE: This will also mean any other bots that use slash commands won't be able to be used in those channels, so pick and choose your battles.

Closer to launch we're hoping Discord launches their own slash commands permissions system and this will solve this before our public full release.

Prepare your client

Make sure your client is as up to date as possible. The slash commands experience is BAD (in some cases doesn't exist) on older clients. What this means is if you're on mobile, update your phone's Discord app. In some cases this might require an OS update, or might not work at all on older hardware. There is nothing we can do about this, sadly.

On desktop, there (could) be a little green "update ready" button on the top right corner, use that! If you feel up for it, we suggest for the BEST experience on slash commands to use the Discord Canary Client which has some good updates to the slash command UX.

Thank you

If you have any trouble or questions, our support staff is not currently taking questions about slash commands because they know about as much as you do until this test. Make a post on our subreddit and if a developer sees it we'll help you ASAP!

We'll see you soon with another blog post about the launch of our beta!
