The Rewrite

As we've mentioned in previous blogs and Q&A sessions, our codebase rewrite is underway and nearing completion. From the time of this blog, a majority of the currency category is finished and being tested. While we still have a good chunk to write and even more so to test thoroughly, we're chugging along at lightning speed.

The BEST part of the rewrite AND slash commands is how insanely easy it'll be to develop new things compared to before. Let me paint you a picture:

BEFORE:

• 60% of our time was putting out fires from bad code or bad infrastructure
• 30% of our time was planning the rewrite or upkeeping our codebase
• 10% of our time was working on new things/balances/changes

SOON:

• 10% of our time will be fixing bugs/infrastructure issues (hopefully less but there's always SOMETHING)
• 20% of our time will be upkeeping the codebase to be efficient and up to date with new discord features
• 25% of our time will be working on new website features that benefit server owners AND users alike
• 45% of our time will be working on new bot features, improving old bot features, or planning future new things

We're still working on finalizing a few things, but we also just expanded our team AGAIN to start pumping out even more content and features. We just hired two game designers to help keep commands fresh and balanced, and we're in the process of hiring more artists! Once this rewrite is finished and deployed, this will be a period of growth no users have seen before from us.

Current Plans

The following are things that are directly being planned to come out after the rewrite, with no ETA yet.

• Partnership/Crossover event with Bake.gg
• New Bot Leveling system
• Multiple new adventures
• New gambling commands
• Blackjack overhaul (split, double, 3:2 payouts, finite decks)
• Web dashboard
• Giveaway system AND friendly heist system
• Vote streaks
• Overhaul profile command (image-based!)
• More global competitions

There is obviously more, but those are some of the bigger things we'd like to release in 2022 that we're already sure are going to happen at some point.

Here are some things we've seen from you guys repeatedly that we're considering adding, but have not been decided on if they'll happen or not BUT they're on our radar:

• Clan system
• Breaking down items (opposite of crafting)
• Global leaderboards
• Multiple pets (originally planned but we're rethinking this)
• Trade ads posted in a channel someone can just hit "accept" on (like a trade house)
• Customizable pets (different pet styles, different clothing options for pets, pet beds, etc)

YOUR Ideas + Competition

We know you guys have ideas, and we'd like to hear them. Let's make this a competition.

If you weren't aware by some miracle, we have a part of this website devoted to hearing your suggestions and feedback called the community page.

This competition will last until the rewrite is launched and stable, expected in mid-May.

How to win

• You must submit an idea for a new command/item/system on our community page
  • To submit you must be logged into a Discord account at least 3 months old + not banned from our website
• Your idea must be:
  • The top idea in upvotes (or second or third, obviously)
  • Accepted by developers to implement
  • Posted AFTER this blog post went live
  • Family-Friendly by nature
  • Not ripping off another bot or game (If it's a similar idea, it must be distinguishable)
• You must have upvoted multiple other posts by other users, this is about bringing good ideas together, not leaving your idea, and dipping out of the community portion
