Welcome to Pixel Progression #14!

Fishing season 3 is right around the corner, and we've shared ALMOST as much as we're willing to share before it comes to your discord client.

But lets dive into one last topic.

There's been a lot of discourse, polls, and strong feelings about this badge and we've been right there with you.

On one hand, we like some challenge and "reason to keep playing" each season. On the other hand, the basic design of this badge keeps people from being able to enjoy fishing as we add more and more fish. We're stuck in a feedback loop here where we (and players) want more fun and rare fish to chase, but not at the expensive of the badge. Meanwhile, people don't want the badge to get EASIER or lose a reason to keep playing.

There's no PERFECT solution, and season 3's launch will keep the badge as it stands already. But, we're going to work on a mid-season update that changes it once we've gathered more feedback both internally and externally.

Nothing is set in stone, but one thing is for sure: The requirements to obtain it will be different than now, to allow us to create more fish diversity.

So at the launch of season 3, go chase that badge! Enjoy it, savor it, and we'll find a fun way to merge the badge with our design philosophy after we work on some other things.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

• The season 1 contents in the gem shop will be gone, for good! These will not return, so this is your last chance to get them.
  • This cycle will continue like this, as this season the season 2 contents will move into the gem shop for one season before leaving for good in season 4.
• We will be putting up new fishing packages on our online store
• Everyone will lose their angler badge when the new fish release
• We have not yet decided if skill points will be unassigned, but either way, they will not be deleted.
• The meta is going to be VERY shaken up, even down to what tools you want to use.
  • You can go into season 3 with the expectation that this is a fresh way to play, not more of the same. Nerfs, buffs, both will happen but we're still learning what's fun and effective and what's not, and we're applying some of that here and now in season 3.

Even though we have a roadmap, we know some of you don't like to (can't) read. This is a joke for legal reasons.

To reiterate our near future plans, coming up next after season 3 in no particular timeline:

• Key event
• Multiple balance patches
• A new partnership with another community
• A new adventure
• pls command support

There's a lot more in the pipeline than this, these are just the FIRST things on the agenda.

This is to give information on ongoing known issues or common points of confusion.

These are issues we know about, and don't need reported right now.

• Time keeper and prismatic has some bad interaction with tools breaking
• There are some rendering bugs with pet coin ranges

As an AVID lover of crackpot theories and long time fan of game theory, how could I NOT be impressed with this attempt at a lore deep dive into some dank memer secrets.

I cannot explain how happy I was to wake up the morning after announcing this PIXELSHOWCASE tag for reddit and finding this.

danklover put some clear effort into this, and it was an absolute treasure to watch. Great job!
