Pixel Progression #4

Welcome to the fourth edition of Pixel Progression!

This marks a month of making these, and I hope you're enjoying them!

The goal was to keep communication flowing even when public facing changes might be slower, to let you know we're not just sitting on our hands. How do you feel about it?

We recently launched our taxes on fighting, as long promised. Obviously to no surprise, some people are very vocally upset. We get it!

This is something that is here to stay, but we can help make things feel more smooth as future updates roll out. Help us with some feedback!

One point brought up is that taxes on fights that end in ties feel a little extra icky, which makes sense. We're looking at solutions to this, and will have an answer in the future without just simply doing "refunds" as it makes things just a bit more complicated than we'd like.

Ties have actually long been a point of contention for some fighters, and one solution that we're potentially looking into the viability of, is sudden death matches instead of ties.

So in the case of a tie, we'd have some sort of mini-game (or multiple where one is randomly chosen) that can keep it going to decide a winner. I personally think this would be the most fun solution and it solves something people haven't loved since fighting 2.0 released. What are your thoughts on a tie breaker automatically starting instead of ties?

As of a few hours ago, you guys have paid over 700b in fight taxes since this feature released. Fighters are rolling in it!

In our next update, which doesn't currently have a slated release date, we're doing a TON to improve the rewards and unlocks for omega users.

This will include various skins at various omega levels, all new badges up to omega 50, and more!

Before we continue development, we want to hear from omega users on what you'd like to be able to unlock via the omega shop OR from going omega itself. Obviously we're not trying to do something crazy OP since you already get some great perks, but something fun and worthwhile. Really think out of the box for this one and let us know!

We've carved out a bit of time over the last week to continue working on the bot for our community server!

We're slowly adding things to help the moderators there run things as smoothly as possible, and adopting features of other less stable bots we've historically used all in our own custom bot.

Some highlights from recently are lockdown commands for locking the server on staff days off, and better responses for approving/denying ban appeals.

Hand of applause for Badosz for being able to juggle Dank Memer, community bot, AND website work!

The fish tank design contest in DMC is at full steam, and there's some STRONG contenders for those steam gift cards! Us staff members will be voting on winners that will be announced in just over a week!

Soon we'll be deploying a new home page design to our website, Blue's been hard at work and I've gotta say it looks CLEAN! Brief sneak peek pictured at the end of this section.

Our artists are hard at work on future content, including a ton of stuff for omega, valentines day, and gambling coming this summer!

Something I'd like to do each time we post one of these, is take a moment to call out cool things happening in the community.

But Mooooom....

u/Rathbone_98 compared our art to Pokemon's and we can't even be mad. Palworld anyone?
