With the release of the rewrite and slash commands, we issued a new set of rules for the player base to follow. Below we will detail some of these rules, how to use the new command:report command, where the reports go, and how they're processed by the Bot Admins.
New(ish) Rules
We've already gone in-depth on most of our rules in a previous blog post that you can find here. Below we will add additional insight to rules we changed and provide clarity on some verbiage we use (we get a lot of "what is a user-bot" questions). We recommend you read this article with a window open to our list of rules.
Rule 1
- Removed alts (referred to as socks, alternative accounts, second accounts) from this rule. This subset has its own rule with the rewrite (see Rule 10 below).
- User-botting
- User uses an external program to programmatically issue commands to our bot through Discord (this breaks Discord ToS as well, which they punish severely)
- Spamming
- User ignores cooldown warnings/prompts and rapid fires commands in quick succession
- Quick key or "copy-pasting" keyboards are fine to use, but understand the risk you take when you "overuse" or outrun our command cooldowns or run the same command invariably for long periods. Grinding is fine, but if you look like a bot, you'll be reported like you're a bot, and most likely be moderated as if you were a bot.
- User ignores cooldown warnings/prompts and rapid fires commands in quick succession
- Any automation or macro'ing is forbidden
Rule 2
- This rule remains unchanged with the rewrite. We will still take moderation action on any user that abuses an exploit, along with any of their friends that may have abused it with them. Report any/all bugs you find to our support server as soon as you find them.
Rule 3
- This rule remains much of the same, and we removed some scam potential with our in-house giveaway system. You can find a further breakdown at the link above. Rule of thumb: if it has a paywall, avoid doing it. It's worth mentioning that our player base seems to kind of fixate on this rule and rankle our support team and staff with loopholes or additions/redactions to it. We feel we have given full transparency of our expectations to our rules surrounding giveaways. If you feel there's a server breaking said guidelines, report them to us. As far as users checking they are compliant with this rule, if it isn't written, it more than likely isn't moderated. PLEASE JUST ENJOY GIVING AWAY STUFF AND THINGS OKAY! (sorry for yelling)
Rule 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8
- Unchanged
Okay, these are actually new
Rule 9 - Scamming
When we shipped the rewrite we kept in mind the scam tactics being employed by users to gain an advantage over new or naive players. Part of this was the removal of trade and the introduction of the /market
and friends system. Since we removed these pinch points, we now moderate any bad actors and ban scammers.
Examples of rule-breaking include:
- Using our new friend system to "short trade" with strangers
- Rotating friend list cooldowns to slot accounts attributing to any abuse schemes
- Inviting users to rob enabled servers under the pretense of rob being disabled
- Enabling rob in your server to rob a user, or users, when your server community has been available with rob disabled
- Tricking a user, or users, into accepting a market offer(s)
- This rolls under our rules regarding RMT but it's worth mentioning here that any illusory expressions regarding the exchange of external premiums, cash, or currency for internal items or coins are not allowed
What we don't moderate:
- verbal agreements that require manual countering of our internal systems
- Kick only fighting
- Punch only fighting
- Walking and chewing bubble gum while you TTT
- Bo[3,A,5,etc] (Best of X) - games are wagerable and wagers placed on the game you're participating in should be considered as wager spent until you win it. We won't moderate users who walk away from "best of" set agreements. Avoid them, unless you trust them.
- If the move-set is in the bot in regards to wagerable games, we do not identify it as a scam when a user uses it.
This list is non-exhaustive and we will take action against future scam tactics as we discover them or they are reported to us.
Rule 10 - Alternate Accounts
We no longer punish users who use alts to play our gaming systems so long as they are not bot-driven (self-bots), used for exploiting, macro'ing, bypassing bans, or voting on bot list websites.
- in regards to vote reward farming, if we determine you are rotating your friend list, or sniping your own market posts, to retrieve any ill-earned loot/rewards from your alts, your main account and alt accounts will be banned
- You cannot use alts to bloat your server member count to be eligible for
/serverevents
feature
You are expected to follow ALL RULES on any alternative account you use, or that account, along with any account tied to it that we determine belongs to you, will be banned, with a determinate duration dependent upon the severity of the rule break.
Reporting
Soon after our rewrite launched we received 1,000s of low effort, troll, or straight-up shitposting reports. So many that we disabled the command from being manually invocated via the slash interface. With the publishing of this blog, we will be unlocking the command for the userbase to utilize; with hopes that this blog provides the clarity and expectations of what to include in your reports. Abusing the report feature WILL ABSOLUTELY UNEQUIVOCALLY 100 PERCENT NO KIZZY CAPPING ETC RESULT IN MODERATION ACTION (seriously, we received so many false reports) including:
- banned from sending more reports
- banned for a temporary duration from the bot's currency system
- banned permanently from the bot's currency system
- depending on severity
When reporting users, be sure to check any/all boxes for the rules which they are breaking. Remember, if the rule isn't listed on our rules page then we probably don't take action for it. We do not moderate based on user-to-user drama, server-to-server drama, or Discord ToS breaks that happen outside of our bot. The report feature is to inform Bot Admins about users potentially breaking our rules, not letting us know they think HotThottie90000#42069 is ugly because she stole your discord boyfriend.
We discard any reports missing evidence that support the subject of said report. You can upload screen capture evidence anywhere on discord and link the media (the actual media, not the message) OR you can upload the screen capture to https://imgur.com and paste the links in your report submission box; give us a quick and accurate detail of what you're reporting, including coordinating evidence, then sit back and sip on your capri sun knowing you made our bot community a better place, and that your anonymity is intact (all reporting is anonymous beyond the Bot Admins)!
Once we receive the report on our end, we will investigate and take action accordingly. We will not follow up with users who send reports UNLESS we need more information. Otherwise, we process them, close them, and move to the next one.
