The September Update 9.2.0

The update with pet fighting and button events

  • In October's update, we will be removing a few major features that CANNOT work without message content. Please make alternative plans for the following features in your servers:
    • snipe, editsnipe, autoresponses

This will be explained in more detail in an upcoming blog post before that update hits.

New in this update

Compare Command

This command allows you to compare a few "flex points" to another user. Use simply by tagging another user: pls compare @user

Marriage System

In a recent Q&A, someone asked about a marriage system with inherent perks and downsides, here it is.

  1. Buy a wedding ring from the shop
  2. pls use ring and select who you want to propose to
  3. Both accept it, and bam, you're married
Some notes:
  • Marriage has downsides, you can see your current downsides/benefits with pls marriage levels once married
  • The longer you are married (in weeks) the more things you unlock as benefits
  • To divorce someone, use pls marriage divorce. There is a 1 week cooldown until you can get married again
  • Once a proposal is accepted, you'll both get a wedding gift item, and the person you proposed to will get the ring you used.
  • Vacation upkeeps your marriage too

Pet Fighting

People love the fight command, and people love their pets. So logically, lets have people fight with their pets!

  • To fight someone, do pls petfight @user.
  • This command ALSO accepts bets similarly to fighting.
  • The actions are attack, special attack, and forfeit.
    • The special attack changes based on what pet type you have (cat girl's is my fav)
  • If your pet loses, it has a chance to pass out for 1 hour. You cannot fight with it, or interact with it.
  • If your pet wins, it's fun stat will be maxed out
  • There is a leaderboard (pls glb) AND badge for pet fighting
  • The stats you have trained your pet in MATTER in pet fighting!
    • Attack directly affects your damage output
    • Defense directly affects your armor level
    • Sustain affects how likely it is your pet passes out for an hour after losing
    • Attack and defense stats are both up from 10 to 15 max now, meaning you need to be more mindful of what stats you max out on your pet, as there will always be 15 points you can't use at max point value. (35 max)

Changes in this update

Work item balances

I've seen a good amount of valid feedback pertaining to how often work items drop, some positive and some negative. We're addressing some of that feedback with these changes, and can start by telling you that EVERY item besides the santa's bag gives between a 1% chance and a 5% chance to drop every time you run a work command. Here are the general changes to the values for each one this update:

Drop chance changes
  • Highly raised chances: tip jar, ammo, bait, coupon, poster,
  • Slightly raised chances: taco, diaper, like button, whiskey, stonk machine, santas bag, cash, collar,
  • Slightly lowered chances: ban hammer, baby, robbers mask, police badge, a+, note, energydrink, binary, meme pills, law degree, vaccine, beaker, ectoplasm
Item Changes
  • tipjar now has increased reward chances all around, but a 1% chance to break when using
  • stonk machine has a 1% chance to break when using

Mini-Game Changes

As we've talked about, message content is going to disappear in just a few months for us. So we're starting to revamp (and add new) minigames which previously ALL relied on message content. Buttons here we come.

  • Removed all text based minigames
    • BASKETBALL, GUESS, MEMORY, MULTITASK, REVERSE, SCRAMBLE
  • Added all new interaction based minigames
    • Catch the Dragon (hunt command only)
    • Catch the Fish (fish command only)
    • Drop, Shop Guess, High Low (random events only)
    • Emoji Match
    • Repeat Order
    • Trivia
  • Changed some minigames to be button based instead of text based
    • Soccer, Color Match, Boss

Pet Changes

Some of these are technically bug fixes, some are changes already addressed above from the pet fighting section.

  • Your pet will now ACTUALLY run away if you don't take care of them (love stat needs to be upkept)
  • Your pet will now ACTUALLY sleep from time to time if their energy stat gets too low
  • The max pet train value is still 35 points, but attack and defense respectively have had their values raised to 15 max. Specialize your pet!

Other Changes

These don't all need their own category, but they're all important none the less.

  • You can now play against bot accounts in fight, ttt, and rps
    • Any discord BOT account will work here, example: pls fight @groovy (rip groovy)
    • These do NOT count towards your leaderboard scores, nor can you bet against them
  • pls shop now shows your personal quantity of that item next to the item
  • pls slots should be a bit easier to win, as we removed bread from the icon pool.
    • While yes, that's one less possible match to get, it's also one less symbol screwing up other possible matches. I'm sure someone on reddit will do the math to see how much this improved the command.
  • We are back to publicly versioning our updates (this is 9.2.0) to help users better understand what update is live.
    • You will find the current version in the pls stats footer
    • The versioning follows as: major.minor.bug-fix
      • For example, the button update was 9.0.0, the August 15th update was 9.1.0, and the REWRITE will be 10.0.0
