Job Openings

This is an extensive list of open positions at the moment. The bottom of this blog will have a section on how to apply to these positions.

We're looking for a talented and seasoned pixel artist to make sprites to help our players feel more connected to the game they love.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience with pixel art that matches or exceeds our quality
  • At least 1 year of professional experience with pixel art or similar art styles
  • The ability to create pixel art for the application process with a pre-determined prompt (that we will not retain the rights to, it's not free work!)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Dank Memer, or Discord bots in general
  • Experience creating art specifically for games

Job Duties

You will work with multiple other pixel artists to create a cohesive art style in a timely manner. The development team will list needed assets with any extra details about the sprites and you will work on individual sprites from the list and deliver to the development team to be implemented.

You will fully design the art, upload it to 1-2 places (file storage and sometimes as a Discord emoji), and then notify the team that it is ready.

Art is generally 32x32 style but occasionally going higher resolution for more detailed projects.

Hours & Pay

This job's workload is heavily dependent on what's being actively developed within the game. Some months we might have a full list of assets to work from, some months we might only have a couple.

On average, our pixel artists will see 4-10 hours of work weekly if they are efficiently creating the required assets.

For this position we are looking to pay $18 to $22 per hour depending on your skill level and qualifications.

  • 1-2 years of experience on a staff team for a Discord server, and knowing how server administration works
  • The ability to create a blog post for the application process with a pre-determined prompt while recording your screen to root out any possibility of AI usage.
  • The ability to hear community feedback and sentiment and translate this to the developers for update planning.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Dank Memer, or Discord bots in general
  • Experience writing changelogs for games
  • Experience working directly with developers with "tech brains" who need their words translated into layman's terms.

Job Duties

You will work directly with the development team and the volunteer admin team in our community server to craft player forward open and timely communication.

Examples of written work will be: changelogs, blog posts (weekly and one-offs), discord announcements, and similar.

Members of the team will let you know when something is happening and give you the technical details and it will be your job to turn that into a clear and concise form of player communication.

Additionally, it will be your job to keep an eye on what's being talked about in Dank Memer forward social spaces to keep the development team updated on what players are looking for, having trouble with, or enjoying.
