Tools & Fish Boosts

Rather than list every change, lets call this a fresh start with tools on durability and functionality. Pretend you know nothing and need to look at the tools again to learn!

• Added tool passive perks, this completely shakes up the meta and you will need to find a new one (there is more than 1 to be found!)
• Added two new tools, bow and magnet fishing rope

• You can now spend tokens, coins, or gems on bundles full of boosts with /fish boosts

• Added a system to lock buckets which prevents:
  • Selecting fish inside
  • Selling fish inside
  • Unequipping the bucket
• Improved selecting fish in buckets with filters in the dropdown by type (bosses, for example)
• Improved fish slots UX and QoL
• Skill points have been unassigned (but not removed) with this update

• New season pass is available!
  • Last season was a success with having gems in the free track, and we did it again
  • There is also a bucket with 25 slots available in the free track this season!
• We will not announce an end date right now, but will give plenty of warning once it's decided
  • This is so if something comes up like this season had, we don't need to "delay" it
• After tier 100, you no longer get tier rank up dms unless there's a reward
  • In the same vein, you no longer rank up old passes if it's past tier 100 already
• Speaking of, in the CURRENT pass there is a tier rank up reward every 5 ranks past 100 of a bait box. Just for fun!

• Scurvy waters is a new permanent location on the main map
• It contains new fish (see below)
• It also contains a pirate hat item!

• 7 new creatures
  • 1 is a boss
  • 1 has a chroma variant
  • 1 is named after our fish tank competition winner!

• MOST tools and baits greatly reduced in base price
• Added some other baits
• Added a new rotation to the tank skin slot which you've been wanting, the shiny colorful rocks!

• Season 2 content has been moved into the fish shop, season 1 content has been moved out
• The fishing adventure was a season 1 pass exclusive, so it is gone. We may bring it back in the future, this is unclear right now.
• Cleaned up some purchase options that were less used due to changing item prices

• Added multiple new tiers
• Reduced badge requirements on multiple skills
• Buffed/nerfed various skills for overall fun and economy health
• Skills command has multiple small QoL improvements and UX improvements

• Added 10 new skill challenges
• Deprecated two skill challenges that encouraged gem spending too much

• Added a new interaction type: Games
  • At high rep, NPCs can approach you wanting to play RPS
  • At low rep, NPCs can show up to beat your ass
  • These have zero stakes, zero rewards, and don't even lock you
  • You can turn them off in your fish settings
• Each NPC now has a special item. These will be in bundles in the future with numbers depending on how rare they end up being.
• You can now decline a trade offer, and there is no rep loss from doing so

• Added 4 new events:
  • Pass Cheesing - 2xp fishing pass
  • Speed Fishing - 5s fish cooldown
  • Teleportation Mania - Instant traveling
  • Quality Time - Minimum of HQ fish, no normal fish

• Added bait and tool daily leaderboards
• Placing top 3 now gets you the plat badge going forward, rather than just 1st place
• Fish leaderboard numbers should be scaled down smaller now, they'll be easier to read
• Idle fishing no longer applies to leaderboards

• DMC now has roles for the following pings:
  • Fish events
  • 2xp day
  • Global boosts
  • Drops (10 minutes in advance)

• Removed the season 2 fishing starter/master bundles
• Added two new bundles
• Added back the initiate's pack, a cheap and good value one time purchase pack to get a taste of gem buying
• For the next week after posting this, there is a 10% off code for gems with code SEASON3

• Fixed/improved the navbar and footer links

• Added a few link buttons across fishing commands to link to tutorials
• Removed the 2023 recap command
• Puzzle key seems to be doing something funky again, investigating.
• The skill that lets you see NPC locations now shows them on the location selection as well

• We plan to watch feedback (constructive) and economy numbers and make a balance patch later this week to address anything being unfun or broken OP
